You are not your anxiety

You Are Not Your Anxiety

What’s “anxiety” ?? So many of us experience this totally normal, yet wildly uncomfortable emotion.

It helps to remember that no matter how overpowering it feels, anxious thoughts, feelings and physical sensations will not harm you.

Anxiety does not define you and you take your strength back by talking about it.

Anxiety disorders are the most common reason clients seek therapy and it’s the most common issue I see in my office. Over the years, I’ve felt empowered by sharing what I’ve learned through my own experiences living with anxiety.

I had the pleasure of sharing some insider tips with the lovely Dr. Tracy Dalgleish, Clinical Psychologist and Couples Therapist, on her podcast I’m Not Your Shrink

We chat about:

  • The importance of noticing and labelling your experience
  • How early events contribute to your anxiety today
  • The way personality traits (like perfectionism) can contribute to maintaining symptoms
  • 3 simple tips for managing anxiety in your day to day

I’d love for you to have a listen and share your thoughts below!

I learned a lot from this. Especially the part about “anxiety only reaching a certain point… and we need to ride it out” still trying, but more hopeful!
